We are speaking at the 2021 HRPA Conference
Canada’s Largest Annual HR Conference & Trade Show
Join the Partners of Navigation Consulting & Training at the Human Resources Professionals Association Annual Conference running January 26-29. The past year has been one with significant challenges and change for all of us, both personally and professionally. HR professionals have been at the heart of this, helping your organizations and people navigate through this tumultuous time. The 2021 HRPA conference HR Rebooted: Advanced HR in a World Disrupted offers a diverse selection of speakers on a broad range of topics that are both relevant and timely for HR professionals, as well as those that have responsibility for the HR functions in their organizations. (The sessions qualify for CPD Hours for those looking to get a start on their 2021 requirements!)
We are fortunate to have been selected to present two topics at this year’s conference.
On January 26, at 2 pm, we will be presenting The Seismic Shift: Looking Back and Thinking Differently in a Post-Covid World. Our optimism, in April 2020 when we pitched the topic, that we would be looking back “post-Covid” was a perfect lesson in the necessity to adapt and be resilient in these unprecedented times. In this session we reflect on the many challenges of the past year with a view to finding the silver linings and lessons learned from our experiences navigating through the global pandemic.
On January 27, at 3:10 pm, we will be presenting Step 1: Harassment Complaint Received; Step 2: Panic?! Workplace Harassment Investigations 101.
Many organizations are experiencing an increase in workplace harassment complaints as the strain of the pandemic continues, with tempers short and patience running thin. In an increasingly virtual environment, boundaries of acceptable behaviour which may have been understood in person, may be forgotten, or ignored in a more casual virtual environment.
With provincial requirements already in place, and new requirements for federally regulated workplaces which came into effect this January 1, regarding requirements to investigate workplace harassment complaints, are you prepared to investigate workplace harassment complaints? Or does the thought of a complaint elicit a sense of dread and panic? In this session we will provide an overview of a harassment investigation methodology and hope after attending the session, if you receive a workplace harassment complaint from one of your employees, you won’t panic but instead view it as a positive sign your policies and processes are working!
